Battle Royale games have been around for a few years. The adrenaline rush and excitement offered by these games are unparalleled. They are online, multiplayer games with elements of survival, scavenging, and exploration. In traditional Battle Royale games, a large number of players (60 to 100) fight for survival to be the last person standing. As the number of players left decreases, the playable area of the map is also constricted by a forcefield or a storm. Players can’t stay in the storm for long as it drains their health over time. Use your firepower and wits to be the sole survivor! Here we have the list of the top 20 Battle Royale games for PC:
1. Apex Legends
Apex Legends has come to the “Apex” of all battle royale games since it was released in 2019. Just like in a good old battle royale game, you drop on the map with your teammates, pick some loot littered on the map, and fight for survival in an ever-reducing area. Apex Legend tells the story of 16 legends from the Titainfall series. Adding to that, the superb mobility of Titainfall 2 makes up a tremendously powerful concoction of the agile movement, cool skills, and terrific gunplay. The guns are so well balanced that you do not need an attachment to win a fight. Decent aiming and using your abilities well in battle is what is going to make you the champion in Apex legends. Read our Apex Legends Review to learn more about the game.
2. PUBG
Player’s Unknown Battleground is an amazing, thrilling fast-paced battle royale game. As soon as you drop on the map and pick up some weapons, you are ready to fight. Two huge sprawling maps with great terrain variety keep the gameplay fresh. The tree-dense areas provide for a lot of cover while the desert-like wasteland is dangerous as it will leave you completely exposed. There is plenty of loot you can get in every building or structure which makes the farming considerably less frustrating than in other games. Sounds of footsteps and gunfire are a key to have a winning edge in this game, this forces players to be attentive all at times. In solos, stealth and tactics can help you win the game while in duos or squads a well-coordinated team can be an unstoppable force.
3. Fortnite
Unlike its competitors like PUBG, Fortnite is certainly cooler. After all, very few battle royale games let you do flashy dance moves in an active match or dive out from a flying bus. Epic Games were the first ones to introduce the battle pass system in games, they have done a consistently good job of building exciting battle pass in each season. What started as a game is now becoming a platform with Fortnite hosting in-game concerts (eg. Travis Scott’s concert in April 2020), adding skins and other cosmetics of characters like Ironman, Venom, Batman, Ghostbusters, Lara Croft, Kratos, and much more! What truly makes it stand out from the crowd, is its building feature. Players can build structures like walls, ramps, etc. for defense or offense. Getting a good grip on building and other items is a key to victory royale.
4. Hyperscape
Hyperscape is a battle royale set in a futuristic city with sky-high buildings and towers. These towers are not just for show though, as you will quickly understand when you play the game. Hyperscape has a “high” emphasis on scaling the heights of the map. This game encourages you to take the advantage of super high jumps to land on rooftops to escape battles you can’t win yet. Thus transforming the traditional horizontal map into a vertical one. Fights on rooftops, jumping up and down from the streets to skyscrapers make the gameplay way more exciting. Just imagine having a deathmatch with super jump ability with futuristic skyscrapers all around. That’s what Hyperscape feels like.
5. Valorant
Valorant is yet another fresh take on the genre. Riot game studio adds an edgy element to battle royale with its punk-style heroes and their abilities. The abilities of each character are polished and feel great to use. While it takes a while to dial those hero abilities right, you won’t be able to put Valorant down if you do. Thanks to the clearly definable graphics, a hero’s skill or a muzzle flash are clearly distinguishable, this is extremely helpful in fast-paced matches where a single bullet could eliminate you. Aiming is clearly very important in the game, especially because each gun has a specific recoil pattern that needs to be understood to land a good hit.
6. Call of Duty: Warzone
There is no need to introduce the well-known Call of Duty franchise. The quality of these games over the years has been consistently increasing as the years are going by. Enjoy the huge map of Warzone battle royale with smooth but lethal weapons. While in a match, you can also pick up “Contracts” which give you more money. Also, each player has the ability to use killstreaks. A hunting bounty, a scavenger bounty, or a recon bounty, choose your specialty. If you are shot down by an enemy, you can revive by engaging in a 1v1 match. On winning, you will be revived and will be able to enter the game again. If you were unlucky with that as well, then you will have to wait for your teammate’s help. Rest assured playing Warzone feels like being in your own action movie!
7. Dying Light: Bad Blood
Looking for a break from the traditional battle royale genre? We have just the right thing for you! Dying Light: Bad Blood. It is a combination of PvE and PvP, Bad Blood has 12 players battling together with rusty weapons. The objective being “collect blood samples and escape the map”. You have to farm blood samples of huge zombie hordes while also defending yourself from other players looking to steal your samples. Harvesting these samples increases your health and damage. It also spawns a helicopter, which is your ticket to victory. Of course, without parkour skills to traverse the map, it won’t be ‘Dying Light”. With crazy zombies to kill and other players looking out to knock you down, it is quite obvious that Bad Blood favors an aggressive playstyle.
8. Spellbreak
All that military-themed shooting and blowing up may become a headache for some people after a while. Why not broaden your horizons and use something better than guns in battle? Spellbreak gives you just that, the basic elements! Elemental gauntlets can be any one of the 6 elements, fire, ice, wind, stone, electricity, or poison. Your chosen class’s gauntlet will be the one you would have with you upon landing. You can then choose another secondary one from loot chests. Each element reacts in a certain way with another element, for example, fire and poison create an overload/explosive reaction, while wind adds any applied element, on the other hand, ice and poison create frozen poison puddles on the ground. Understanding the interplay between these elements is crucial to your victory.
9. Ring of Elysium
Battle Royale games have been around for a few years and as the familiarity of a traditional game is building up, developers are trying to add unique abilities and tactics to the game. Ring of Elysium fits this criterion perfectly. Here you will be fighting 60 other players to get away from a deadly blizzard affecting small towns in the alps. To transverse this snowy hell, you can use ski lifts, snowboards, hang gliders, and mountain climbing gear! This injects a considerable amount of creativity in this battle royale game. What’s more is that there is no one victor but four players can who can win. At the end of a match, four players can get a chance to secure the seats in an evacuation helicopter. There is also a cover system in play, whenever you go near an object, it automatically takes a position to cover your body.

The hunter class seems a bit underpowered at first but picks up later on as you unlock more skills. There more than 10 beautiful maps to play a 4v4 match in. The developers are also constantly releasing new updates and new multiplayer modes for players to enjoy.
12. Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege is a hardcore-fast-paced battle royale experience. Each match has teams of 5 players engage in attack and defense. The defending teams are in a scramble to secure the weak points in the map that can be breached and also placing traps. The attackers on other hand have to avoid these traps and eliminate the defenders. A very unique part of the game is that you can practically blow up doors and walls to make way for yourself and your team. Hence the name “Siege”. Unlike other games of the genre, Siege favors strategy and team coordination over simple shooting and running.
13. Titainfall 2
Titanfall 2 offers a futuristic battle royale experience with superb mobility and cool tech. The players are pilots of giant robots or Titans. Multiplayer matches have different modes with Pilot vs Pilot or a normal Multiplayer match in which you can use your Titans. In the way, there will be several clever bouncy traps and mechanics to hinder your progress. The game was a hit as soon as it released, still the developers have been consistent in bringing in new mini-games and better versions of the existing ones. Here up to 12 players must search for clues and hunt down monsters to claim a bounty and escape the map. Players can choose to go straight to eliminate other hunters to claim their loot or hunt down monsters. Unlike other battle royale games, Hunt rewards better weapons when the players level up, thus increasing your firepower. The creepy monster hunts and the high-risk-high-reward mechanics make the game addictive.
19. CRSED: F.O.A.D
CRSED: F.O.A.D is a not-too-serious third-person battle royale game. Much like other games in the genre, you must pick up armor and weapons which spawn on the map. But unlike other games, it has some interesting things up its sleeves for players. Each game can be a completely different experience for you to enjoy thanks to the “rituals” or traps available in the game. These can be massive in scale i.e. affecting the whole map while others can be localized. One such ritual floods a nearby area, another ritual summons a horde of zombies while another turns all the toilets in the match into portals! Much more terrifying and cool effects are possible due to the seven playable characters, each having their superpowers. There is just so much to try out and so many items that you can use that the gameplay would still be enjoyable after 1000 matches!

Don’t be too caught up with others though, you have your own ship to handle and keep afloat in this battle royale of pirates. Much like the ideas of storm and energy fields to push the remaining players into a smaller area, you too will be forced to steer your ship into the endzone. Fight to be the last ship afloat by engaging in a heated match of wits between pirate captains. The developers keep the game trending with new content in every update along with flashy skins and cosmetics.
