Are you interested in playing bicycle racing games on your PC? If so, we understand. They can provide relaxation, intense focus, and a chance to use your knowledge and bring the competitive spirit out. Additionally, mountain biking is exhilarating and potentially dangerous but worth it for the adrenaline and beautiful nature. You may also be surprised by the demand for mechanic-focused games where you build and sell or ride bikes. All those components are included in the entries on our list of the top 10 cycle racing games for PC. Let’s dig in.
Note. We only listed bicycle (road or mountain bike) games, not motorbike/motorcycle titles. For those, check out our rundown of the most popular bike racing PC games.
1. Descenders
Descenders sits on the throne as the leader among the best cycle racing games for PC. It’s an adrenaline-pumping downhill bike racing video game that never gets boring thanks to a procedurally generated world. That means hill bombs, jumps, and slopes change every time you play. Further, the bike control system is intricate and accurate, meaning precision and timely reactions make a difference between slamming into a tree and continuing. The game also has a bike/rider ability system, called “mutators”. You can also play online, land positions on scoreboards, and earn new bikes and wheels.
2. Guts and Glory
Did you play Happy Wheels in the past and wish that the game was in 3D? Guts and Glory has a similar premise, with players using the in-game Level Editor to create maps for themselves and others. The game even follows the adventures of father and son on a bike, people on 4×4 vehicles, and sport cars. The goal is simple—get to the finish line while the world falls apart and tries to kill you. That means logs will fall on you, trucks will drive into your lane, axes will spin into your windshield, saws will try to cut you in half, and so forth.
3. Lonely Mountains: Downhill
If you love mountain biking, cartoonish representation of nature, and the solitude and excitement they provide, you’ll love Lonely Mountains. You will race against your previous best daily and weekly results, trying not to crash as you rapidly descend from the mountain’s peak to the valley at the bottom. There are many environments, obstacles, and difficulty modes to try. You can also play at night, upload results to leaderboards, and try out several bikes. Lonely Mountains: Downhill won over 12 prestigious awards in 2018, 2019, and 2020. Plus, players can buy several DLCs (Downloadable content) for new maps and features.
4. Watch Your Ride – Bicycle Game
Watch Your Ride – Bicycle Game is one of the most underrated, yet top PC cycle racing video games. It combines the best parts of Descendants and Guts and Glory. To clarify, you can enjoy the procedurally generated worlds and beautiful graphics, but also have to dodge obstacles while trying to reach the finish line. You can play alone or with up to 4 friends in co-op or online, and compete in completing the campaign challenges. Simple, yet provides a lot of fun long-term.
5. Pro Cycling Manager 2022
Not all people prefer to get into the thick of it and battle it out or chase personal records, and the popularity of manager games proves that. Pro Cycling Manager 2022 puts you in charge of young cyclists you’re helping reach stardom. The game follows all aspects, from scouting talent to analyzing the reports from your scouts in several countries to picking candidates based on potential, mental and physical prowess, and so on. The goal is to send them to over 20 official 2022 Tour de France stages and come home with trophies.
6. Generation Zero – Bikes
Generation Zero – Bikes is a DLC of Generation Zero that permits you to survive the dangerous world of Östertörn on a Swedish-made bicycle named “The Cykel”. It will speed things up considerably, but that’s not the primary benefit. Remember the robots in this post-apocalyptic world set out to kill you? Well, now you can dodge them much easier than on foot, and even lure them into an ambush. Don’t forget fleeing, either. If you get cornered, The Cykel lets you leave what would be a lethal encounter if you were on foot.
7. Bicycle Rider Simulator
Bicycle Rider Simulator is one of the most immersive cycle racing games for PC. The focus on simulation takes things to a new level. This indie game brings incredible graphics, shadows, and lighting, and beautiful landscapes, from dense forests to river banks and mountains. Although you can compete for trail time, there’s no pressure to perform. The “racing” journey is what you make of it, as the route you take is for the player to choose. You can also stop and stare at the view, and switch between first and third person for a desired atmosphere or gorgeous screenshots.
8. Bicycle Challenge – Wastelands
The world of Bicycle Challenge – Wastelands is the opposite of Bicycle Rider Simulator. It looks like a post-apocalyptic wasteland, with basic houses, trains, refineries, tanks, bridges, and roads. This single-player-only game tasks you with controlling a cyclist that must touch all checkpoints on their way to the finish line. The game will demand more as you replay levels, and even throw in a first-person perspective to make things harder. However, your accomplishments are ranked on a leaderboard, and you earn achievements.
9. Bicyclism EP
Bicyclism EP looks like a mishmash of crazy colors and isn’t easy on the eyes at first. However, you and up to three more friends will quickly get adjusted to the “party-looking” physics-based cycling video game for PC. There are plenty of biking challenges to try. You can start with Grand Prix through three worlds with 10 levels each. We then suggest racing against your ghost as motivation or bots. For adventurous players, there’s a unicycle or penny farthing instead of a regular bike. They can also take on crazy challenges such as bike soccer, wrestling, and jousting.
10. Bikour!
Bikour! combines bicycles and parkour, and is ideal for low-spec computers due to its basic graphics. You play Bichael, a bike traversing the unique and crazy worlds in space. You’ll find obstacles of all kinds, including roulette tables, paintings, maze walls, rotating balls, arcade machines, cars, DJ mixing tables, and spinning vinyl records. Bichael has to climb, jump, flip, and combat gravity and the game’s physics to complete each stage. You need a controller at the time of writing, but keyboard and mouse support is announced.
