In sniper games, completing multiple missions by eliminating distant targets is the main goal or objective. Typically, you take on the role of a military or secret agent, and you have objectives/targets to complete. These missions could involve saving captives or also known as hostages, taking out bad and evil men, or acquiring crucial data.
List of the Best Sniper Games for PC
Want to be a sniper? There is no better way than doing it in a game. Have a look at these sniper games for PC.
1. Sniper Elite 4
There you go, guys! The best sniping game ever- Sniper Elite 4. In this game, you’ll truly feel like an absolute elite when you grab your sniper rifle and shoot the Nazis straight in the face! This amazing game looks stunning and allows you not only to snipe but to use various executions and weapons at your disposal. You can now be a badass and shove your knife directly into the enemy’s chest or neck, or go guns-blazing with MP40.
Sniping was never this fun, especially at the level where you have to kill Hitler! He really has one nut, and the developers took care that you can clearly see it if you shoot him down there. That’s hilarious!
2. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3
Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 went open-world this year. Was it a good decision? Well, I think it is. It abandoned an old, linear approach to levels, but now it resembles Far Cry games. Basically, you are a highly-skilled sniper who is on a mission to save his brother after he’s been taken by an unknown organization. However, the things start to complicate and you’ll need to put your sniper to good use.
Utilize the environment by using your sniper vision and drive vehicles to go faster. It can really be seen that CI had much more money to invest in the game, as it looks phenomenal in every aspect. This isn’t only a great sniping game, but awesome FPS game.
3. Hitman (2016)
Agent 47 is known for his sniping skills, and although there’s a little less sniping in Hitman (2016), you can still snipe the shit out of your targets! The game’s open-world nature allows you to complete the missions in various ways. You can go silently, guns-blazing or just take a sniper rifle and eliminate them one by one. Hitman really offers that sense of freedom, so don’t limit yourself to a single playstyle; experiment and be the best contract killer you can be!
4. ARMA 3
ARMA 3 is a tactical simulation shooter that’s challenging for even the most experienced FPS players. The guns feel real and the gameplay is slow-paced; that’s an ideal terrain for sniping! ARMA 3 lets you customize your weapons and character, and really put an emphasis on your desired playstyle. For example, you can grab automatic weapons and be an assault rifleman, or you can be a sharpshooter and provide sniper support for your teammates. Either way, the sniping feels amazing here and that satisfaction when you hit the enemy… priceless!
5. CSGO
CSGO isn’t a distinctive sniper game, but you can confidently say that it IS a sniper game indeed. It’s a classic tactical shooter game for PC where the focus is multiplayer. CSGO offers a wide variety of weapons for both teams, but there is one that stands out, and that’s AWP. This sniper will rip the limbs off your body and make you scared to death… literally! This dangerous weapon is used by many players online and you can even play the maps that are strictly focused on this one, turning the game into a sniping party. It’s all fun and games until you get to hold this beast in your hands, but you should know how to tame it.
6. Call of Duty WW2
When there is a WW2 going on, there is a sniping and there are those deadly snipers that can rip your head off with just a single bullet. In Call of Duty WW2, you aren’t going to experience a super-realistic sniping experience, but you are going to use your sniper a lot. In singleplayer campaign, these parts are great and in multiplayer even better. I’m a big fan of WW2 snipers, as those bad boys are really powerful and there aren’t fancy technologies here, but pure sniping. Sniping is a way to go, gentlemen.
7. The Sniper VR
The Sniper VR might not be the most accessible title on the list. However, if you have a VR headset, then you are welcome to join. The game isn’t the most realistic experience on VR, but I guess it’s because VR is still relatively new stuff. The Sniper VR doesn’t look good either, and the cartoonish artwork doesn’t work so well, but there’s something fun in the gameplay. Sniping with your own bare hands is great and if you have shaky hands, be sure to use your bipod. Just don’t get out-sniped!
8. Battlefield 1
Battlefield 1 is a great war game set in the era of WW1. I can count on the fingers of a single arm WW1 games, and this one nails it. The sniping in this game is phenomenal! As you snipe, you can clearly hear the sound of your sniper and that fatal hit is followed by tons of blood which makes it satisfying. Battlefield 1 has a great singleplayer campaign, but if you want more sniping challenge, then you can try multiplayer.
9. Hitman: Sniper Challenge
Hitman: Sniper Challenge is a rip-off in the series. This game isn’t a stealth game by any means, but an on-rails game. This means that you are set in a single place in the game (top of the building) and snipe the enemies from above. It’s a quite simple workflow here; follow your target and shoot it. Follow the enemies and shoot them. But, don’t expect the game to go easy on you, as you still need to be tactical.
10. Sniper: Ghost Warrior
Sniper: Ghost Warrior creates an exciting and engrossing experience by fusing gameplay elements like stealth and sniping. You’ll be sent to numerous difficult environments as a member of an elite special forces unit to take out high-value targets.
Each sniping chance in the game presents a tactical challenge due to the realistic ballistics and contextual influences that effect your shots. Sniper: Ghost Warrior actually offers a variety or a range of gameplay options to fit your playing style, whether you choose to engage with foes at a distance or sneak into enemy strongholds unnoticed. This game is a must-play for aficionados of the genre thanks to its breathtaking aesthetics and addictive sniper mechanics.
11. Far Cry 4
Until Far Cry 5 comes out, Far Cry 4 is the latest game in the series that features shooting. And no, I’m not counting shooting your arrows in Far Cry Primal. Far Cry has always been known for some great sniping sequences. The open-world setting adds a great opportunity for sniping, as you can easily hide in the distance and just snipe the enemies off. Also, the jungle-like environment of Kyrat provides many opportunities for sniping, and I often found myself using sniper instead of my other weapons, even for the close-quarter combat.
12. Sniper: Blacklist
A tactical sniper game called Sniper: Blacklist puts you in the role of an expert marksman. You are being assigned with taking down a terrorist group, so therefore you’ll need to carefully plan your every shot and employ your different sniper abilities to eliminate the main targets.
You can personalise your loadout in the game with different range of sniper rifles and tools, giving you the freedom to tackle each and every new mission in your own way. Sniper: Blacklist offers a satisfying and an engrossing sniper experience with accurate bullet physics and difficult sniping settings. This game offers something for any sniper aficionado, whether they choose to kill targets far away or close up and stealthily.
13. Squad
Squad is just a few steps behind ARMA 3. It’s a very similar game to ARMA that looks amazing and plays smoothly like a butter. This tactical shooter is challenging but very rewarding, and the whole concept of the game is team play. You work alone? Fine, you’ll get killed. There is a lot of sniping here, so if you are skilled, expect to sweat your palms because you’ll have lots of jobs to do.
14. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a welcome addition to the series. It’s a reboot of the game from 2007, and its graphics are great. So, how can I exclude this game from the list? It would be a crime, and tons of angry gamers would crucify me! The sniping in this game is great, and there are some memorable moments like that Pripiyat mission that took everyone by surprise because of its difficulty. In multiplayer, you’re gonna also use your sniper a lot, so prepare your finger and practice your reaction time!
15. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
Much like ARMA and Squad, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising has that realistic shooting gameplay. As much as I love ARMA 3, I gotta give this game props. It looks amazing and plays even better. I think it’s more accessible than ARMA 3, because it isn’t THAT realistic, and of course because it’s easier to snipe here. If you didn’t know, OF: Dragon Rising has a very cool sniping mechanics so you’ll always look for that freaking sniper to start killing. You can always try multiplayer for a true challenge.
16. Far Cry 2
Far Cry 4 is a great game, but Far Cry 2 is a game that initiated it all. While the first Far Cry game has that huge open world, you couldn’t do much except follow the story. In Far Cry 2, you can complete side quests as well as explore the in-game world. As for the sniping, I suggest that you never let go of it in this game! Every sniper here is deadly and is a really useful weapon.
I often found myself using just my sniper and my Colt 1911 in confrontations, and it works wonders. Don’t forget to use that quick save feature; many of the games on this list don’t have it!
17. Sniper Art of Victory
If you remember the games like Call of Duty 2, then you know what I’m going to talk about here. Sniper Art of Victory is an old game, and it’s stereotypical WW2 shooter. Of course, your main weapon here will be a sniper, but you can use your pistol and other weapons also. This is a low-spec game, so don’t expect mind-boggling graphics and streamlined gameplay, but expect to use your sniper rifle a lot.
18. Manhunter
Manhunter might not be the best game on the list, but it has that nostalgic feeling to it, although it’s released in 2013. Surely, the graphics in this game are dated, but it can be very fun for PC games newbies. Also, the game is very simple to play and has nothing too advanced. A solid sniping action is what you should expect from it. If you don’t mind the graphics, then you’ll enjoy Manhunter.
19. Sniper Fury
Sniper Fury is a free-to-play game that you can try right now! It’s another on-rails game that puts you in a spot where you’ll shoot enemies using your sniper or other weapons. However, the first thing you’ll notice here is that it’s a mobile port, so if you are wondering if there’s the game for Android, the answer is YES. Nevertheless, Sniper Fury has some nice visuals for a game of this type and lets you slowly progress to higher levels where you’ll use better weapons and rifles. Nothing too spectacular, but not bad for a free game.
20. SnipZ
If you want to heavily rely on your sniper and test your sniping skills, look no further than SnipZ. This game is all about surviving a zombie virus that threatens to kill everything in its sight. You are a sniper that fights for his life as hordes of zombies invade the city and your only option is to grab that goddamn rifle and shoot! If you aren’t fast enough, those creatures will rip the entrails out of your body and send you to hell. So, what are you waiting? Just a couple of bucks and this game can be yours!
21. Marine Sharpshooter II: Jungle Warfare
As we’ve delved deeply into the old-school shooter arena, it’s time to check Marine Sharpshooter II: Jungle Warfare. This game is here to give you nothing more than a great shooting and sniping. You are a lone survivor in an African country where the things aren’t how they should be and your task is to survive. The sniping here is a great factor and you’ll often use your sniper rifle to survive in dense African jungles. Expect heavy resistance, soldier.
22. Medal of Honor: Allied Assault
This is the most nostalgic shooter game ever! Medal of Honor: Allied Assault is here to bring you its A-Game. Back in the time, this game was a game I would kill just to play for a few minutes. Those action-packed levels and intense battles were untouchable at the time, and the sniping levels were just amazing. The snipers sound very loud and the shooting echo was here to give you a feeling of how overwhelming those weapons were at the time. That rainy level in the city full of snipers is still a challenge for me and often gets me into a lot of trouble.
