When it comes to driving games, we often see motorcycles or cars, and that can be a little boring at times. But, as there are tons of vehicles on our generous planet, we also have truck games, which are very fun. Truck games are in most cases simulation games that focus on using your truck(s) in order to achieve a certain goal. The common goals of these games are to drive the goods from point A to point B and even race against the other truckers. I know that truck games aren’t that popular, hence we need to pay them homage and awake this genre from its winter sleep. These are the Best Truck Games for PC.
1. Euro Truck Simulator 2
How about a jaw-dropping truck experience immediately from the start? Well, if you would like such a thing, don’t miss Euro Truck Simulator 2. Euro Truck Simulator 2 is the best truck game of all time. After the release of the first game, the developer was still able to bring a much, much better truck experience for use, hence this game was born. This game is everything you’ve imagined it to be; a great truck simulator experience with highly-customizable trucks and a multiplayer mode which is great. You can sell, buy, customize, and drive your favorite trucks and drive various goods from point A to point B. Of course, it’s nothing exquisite, but if it works flawlessly, then I’m in. If you don’t like this game, there are also other games like Euro Truck Simulator 2.
2. American Truck Simulator
American Truck Simulator is very similar to Euro Truck Simulator franchise. But, as this is about America, the game will let you explore the vast American environment as you drive your badass truck through the cities and intersections. It’s all about that cargo here, so picking up the goods while you are in the city is a good idea. From there, you’ll engage in a peaceful trucking experience and relax with the sound of your own truck or music when driving. There’s nothing better than a relaxing driving session at the midnight, right? If so, check American Truck Simulator.
3. Spintires
Speaking of relaxing, well… Spintires is quite the opposite. Regardless of being a top truck game, this is by no means a relaxing game, due to the in-game environment and terrain which you need to overcome. Spintires will force you to drive where even the tank itself can’t make it to the ending, giving you a heart-pounding and intense trucking experience. However, the game gives you some powerful trucks and some cargo to carry, so your only goal is to overcome the terrain full of mud, sludge, grass, and dirt, and of course, bring the cargo to the desired point.
4. BeamNG.drive
BeamNG.drive is more like an all-around simulation game than a distinctive truck game. But still, this game allows you to drive trucks as well as many different vehicles, including cars and vans. The point of this game is to have fun, and by that I mean simulate various scenarios and participate in them. You can play some minigames in order to achieve a high score, for example. That one with the bridge in the desert gave me so much torment, but it was fun. Other than that, you can drive your vehicle however you want, meaning that you can collide with everything you see on the road. When you see how well the physics engine is done here, you’ll be amazed!
5. Farming Simulator 17
For those living in urban areas where you can’t harvest a huge amount of plants, Farming Simulator 17 could be an amazing game. In fact, Farming Simulator 17 is for every audience, and it’s very user-friendly and relaxing. As its name says, the game is about managing your own farm, manage its resources, harvest numerous plants, and breed your animals. While this isn’t strictly a truck game, you’ll still find yourself driving a tractor or a truck in order to bring some seeds from point A to point B. Your kids can also play this Farming Simulator 17. It’s an amazing game for kids, but also for us not-so-old people.
6. GTA V
If you are wondering why GTA V is almost always on our lists, well… you obviously didn’t play it! Tell me a single thing that you can’t do in GTA V. Come on, I’m waiting. No answer? Well, that’s because GTA V is a great open-world game with lots of stuff to do. Aside from shooting experience and great storytelling, GTA V offers a wide variety of vehicles at your disposal. If they aren’t at your disposal, you can just steal it and, you know… everything’s fine! There are tons of fast (and slow) cars, vans, trucks, helicopters, and many other vehicles that you can try. Go on, try it; you’ll have tons of fun with it! To know more about the game, you may have a look at our GTA V Review.
7. Construction Simulator 2015
Released in 2014, Construction Simulator 2015 represents a worthy instance of a high-end building game. I know we haven’t mentioned these games in a while, so now it’s the right time. Construction Simulator 2015 lets you control 16 realistic construction machines made by MAN, STILL, and many other popular manufacturers. Because of this, you can build your own house or building, and admire your own work.
8. Scania Truck Driving Simulator
Scania Truck Driving Simulator is a game that you can buy for a pocket change. Even the bread is more expensive than this one! But, wait ’till you hear this. This game looks amazing! On top of that, it isn’t just another lazy-looking and unsatisfying game, but a true truck simulation game, that will leave you speechless. It’s a very underrated game when it comes to this genre. Get ready for a new breed of singleplayer games. Take your Scania truck and drive this beast until you die! Truck on, brothers!
9. UK Truck Simulator
UK Truck Simulator is a stock truck simulator experience. This means that the game isn’t quite exquisite, but does the job just fine. The only difference here is that you’ll be exploring the UK, unlike the USA or Europe, which we’ve seen in the first two games on our list. So, you are a local truck driver looking for a job in the UK in order to… well, maybe buy a couple of beers or get something to eat, I don’t know! You are going to drive your cargo across long distances and enjoy the relaxing experience that the game has to offer. Simple as that!
10. 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker
Unlike the UK Truck Simulator, 18 Wheels of Steel: Extreme Trucker is much more varied. By that, I think about terrain, environment, and stuff to do. Because you are an extreme trucker, you aren’t going to drive just a handful of beers, meat, grocery, or tech, but everything from diamonds and oil pipes. On top of that, the game forces you to drive through the dangerous, unforgiving terrains where even God himself wouldn’t want to wander. If you are ready for an authentic trucking experience, then hop in, and let’s drive trucks.
11. Rig n Roll
Rig n Roll is an amazing PC truck game that you probably haven’t heard of. Let me introduce you to this game. It isn’t your typical non-sense driving game, but a game with a relatively good story. The game is set in California and you are in the skin of a man who pursues his dreams of road domination and being the best trucker in California. Get ready to conquer the cities and highways in your truck of choice.
12. Rigs of Rods
Another soft-body physics simulator is Rigs of Rods. Being a simulation game, its physics are relatively accurate, given the time of the game’s release. Graphics-wise, Rigs of Rods aren’t going to impress you, but its fun gameplay will. You can use not only the trucks but various other vehicles and drive them across different terrains and conditions. Step on the gas, and let the physics engine do the rest.
13. Truck & Trailers
Truck & Trailers is a user-friendly game that will slowly introduce you to the world of trucking. First, you’ll complete basic training to learn more about trucks and how to drive them, before you can complete various challenges awaiting you. Don’t let the word “basic” fool you, as driving a truck is by no means an easy task. Once you master this skill, you can become the best trucker in the world!
14. Monster Truck Madness 2
Monster Truck Madness 2 was released exactly 20 years ago when the gaming industry wasn’t all that developed. The truth be told, this game was pretty authentic and original back in the time. Regardless of being an old game, Monster Truck Madness 2 is probably one of the few monster truck racing games that you can play for free and whenever you want. Sure, the graphics are far from beautiful, but that’s what you get from an old game. Like it? Great. If not, then bugger off!
15. Monster Trucks Nitro
If you don’t suffer from a nostalgia disorder, you can play a newer monster truck racing game. Monster Trucks Nitro is a 2.5D game, meaning that the gameplay is in 2D and the rendering is in 3D. Levels in the game are dynamic, offering an unforgiving and mind-boggling terrain to overcome, in order to get to the end of the race. Driving a monster truck was never this fun. Furthermore, there aren’t NPCs and other players, leaving you to care only about the time in which you completed the race. Surely a free truck game that you can enjoy.
16. 18 Wheels of Steel: American Long Haul
I know I’ve mentioned a game from this franchise, but let me apologize for this. I will present you a game called 18 Wheels of Steel: American Long Haul, a truck driving game that every fun of the genre loves. Unlike many other games where you work for the boss, this one lets you be your own boss and pull the strings! The goal is to build your empire and dominate the roads and highways of America, and of course, earn some fucking cash for yourself! Are you good enough to be the greatest American trucker? Find out now!
17. Driving Simulator 2013
Driving Simulator 2013 is a game that needs no special introduction. Its name says everything about the game and that’s something I like about these types of games. Aside from driving those boring-ass cars, you can also hop in the truck’s seat and haul across the roads and highways. Furthermore, the game has some immersive ambulance missions where you’ll save the lives of people. Don’t expect an arcade experience from this one. This is a pure-bread simulator.
18. Towtruck Simulator 2015
We all hate the towtrucks and often swear a lot when we see one of them approaching our vehicles. Don’t ask me how I know! Towtruck Simulator 2015 will let you drive a tow truck and show ’em who is the boss. Do you see an illegally parked car? Go and pick it up, bust them and earn some money. The developer of this game surely knows his business. Otherwise, we couldn’t play this great game.
19. Warehouse and Logistics Simulator
Warehouse and Logistics Simulator is a refreshing and relaxing game experience that you can enjoy on every PC out there. Yes, it’s a low-spec game, meaning that the graphics aren’t milk and honey, which doesn’t certainly apply to the gameplay. The gameplay here is about using your forklift to lift stuff and carry it to the point where it needs to be. Warehouse and Logistics Simulator is all about that Highscore, so only the best drivers will be awarded. The forklift isn’t that big vehicle, but it’s damn hard to drive if you aren’t experienced enough.
20. Woodcutter Simulator 2013
Last, but not least, we have a game about the lumber mill. Woodcutter Simulator 2013 puts you in the role of a lumber mill owner who knows his business. The players will learn to operate an entire lumber mill, clear woods, and evacuating the logs. On top of that, the game offers some tasks to complete in order to clear numerous missions out of your way. Woodcutter Simulator 2013 isn’t going to blow you away with its graphics or sound design, that’s for sure. However, it’s a truck game you wanted, and you got one.
