PlayStation offers various subscription services that give users access to premium content, such as online multiplayer gaming, exclusive deals, and more. However, there may come a time when you need to cancel your PlayStation subscription. It’s not always easy to stop paying for one, though. Depending on your method, you may have to jump through hoops and navigate labyrinthine menus just to get your cancellation request processed. 1. Cancel PlayStation subscription via a web browser
Go to the PlayStation website and sign in.
- Hover over your account name in the upper-right corner, and select “Account Management” from the drop-down menu that appears.
- On the next page, select “Subscription.”
- On that page, find the subscription you want to cancel and click “Cancel Subscription.”
- Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation request.
2. Use your PlayStation console to cancel a subscription
On your PlayStation 4, go to Settings and then:
- Open Account Management → Account Information → Wallet.
- You now have two options:
- Go to Service List for all PlayStation subscriptions except PS Plus and EA Play.
- Open PlayStation Subscriptions to give up on paying for EA Play and PS Plus.
- Find the subscription to cancel and press (X button) or select Cancel Subscription.
3. Stop paying for subscriptions on PS Vita or TV
In this case, you should also start by going to Settings. Now:
- Go to PSN (PlayStation Network).
- Visit Account Management → Account Information → Service List like above.
- Find the subscription you want to cancel and select the Cancel button.
- Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation request.
4. Calling PlayStation Customer Care to stop the subscription
One way to cancel your PlayStation subscription is to dial their Customer Support. This can be a hassle, as you’ll need to wade through automated phone menus and possibly even wait on hold for a customer service representative. But if you’re patient, you can eventually get someone on the line to help you stop your subscription. To reach PlayStation customer care, do this:
- Dial 1-800-345-7669.
- Follow the prompts to contact the cancellation department.
- Once you speak with a customer service representative, explain your request. They may ask you for a reason, but you don’t have to give one—it’s your money.
5. Sending a signed letter to cancel PlayStation subscriptions
Another way to cancel your PlayStation subscription is by forwarding a signed letter. This method is a bit old-fashioned but effective. To do this, simply write a letter requesting they cease your subscription. Be sure to include your account information and contact information. Then mail the letter to the following address:

6. Stopping PlayStation payments through live chat
You can contact Sony directly if you need assistance canceling your PlayStation subscription this way:
- Log in to your account on the PlayStation website and click on the “Help” tab.
- Select “Contact Us” and choose the “Live Chat” option.
- Once you’re chatting with a customer service representative, elaborate on your request.
They will be able to walk you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
It’s important to note that you will not be refunded for any unused time on your subscription if you cancel this way. Thus, if you have paid for a year-long subscription, for example, but only want to cancel after six months, you will not be entitled to a partial refund. Sony can change these terms and conditions from time to time without notice.
