Looking for a car that will get you from point A to point B in the shortest time possible in GTA 5? While this is fun and definitely exhilarating in the offline game (and games like GTA V, of course), it’s crucial in the multiplayer version, Grand Theft Auto Online. For that reason, we wanted to look into what’s the fastest car you can own in GTA.
But why are there 3 cars, and not 1? Well, a single update by Rockstar Games can buff one car’s speed or lap time, and nerf another’s. Also, there are a lot of variables that go into a race, including your own skills. For example, the fastest car in a straight line or with maximum speed might lose to a car that has better acceleration, braking, and handling. And in just like that, the answer to what is the fastest car in GTA 5 changes.
Cars in GTA 5 ranked by top speed
1. Ocelot Pariah (136mph)
In terms of car racing in a straight line and developing a top speed, Ocelot Pariah is the clear winner. Developing an in-game speed of 136 mph or 218.871 km/h means that this sports car is unbeatable in that regard. No wonder – it’s very loosely based on the looks of Aston Martin V12 Zagato and Ferrari 812 Superfast. You can pick it up at Legendary Motorsport for $1,420,000.
2. Pfister 811 (133mph)
Pfister 811 is 3 mph slower than Ocelot Pariah at 214.043 km/h. However, it is arguably faster when racing on a real track, filled with twists, turns, and opponents trying to block your path. It has better handling and acceleration as well. It’s also significantly cheaper at Legendary Motorsport. clocking in at $1,135,000.
3. Principe Deveste Eight (132mph)
This low-profile hypercar, loosely based on the Mazda Furai, is just 1 mph or 1.609 km/h slower than Pfister 811. However, it has much better handling, acceleration, and braking, and is faster in racing conditions. The unfortunate thing is the price tag – a massive $1,795,000.
Cars in GTA 5 ranked by best lap time
1. Dewbauchee Vagner (0:59.194)
The winner of the lowest lap time competition is Dewbauchee Vagner. This car, loosely based on the prototype hypercar Aston Martin Valkyrie, reaches a top speed of 126.75 mph or 203.984 km/h. However, due to its above-average acceleration and handling, if the race is full of tight corners, you can count on it to win the race. Another great fact – it only costs around $1,500,000 at Legendary Motorsport.
2. Annis RE-7B (0:59.727s)
Although it came second in this competition due to its extraordinary handling, this car, released in 2016, has a lot of “flaws”. First of all, its traction and acceleration are worse than Dewbauchee Vagner, and it only develops a top speed of 123.5 mph or 198.753 km/h. The final nail in the coffin is the price – it sells for $2,470,000!
3. Ocelot XA-21 (0:59.927s)
This beauty, released in August 2017, is somewhat based on Jaguar C-X75 and Koenigsegg Regera and thus very aerodynamic. It reaches a top speed of 122.5 mph or 197.144 km/h. But don’t let that deter you – this car is very easy to accelerate with and maneuver around the track. Its price tag is a problem, though, coming in at $2,375,000.
