How to Increase FPS in Valorant

When you play games, your FPS (frames per second) number is crucial to how well you perform. To clarify, you’re disadvantaged if your FPS is low. In Valorant, your chances of winning a shootout and having your shots hit are greatly influenced by your frames per second. Several techniques to increase the frame rate (FPS) in Valorant regardless of the PC you use exist. 1. Check the Valorant System Requirements and Upgrade the PC

3. Increase FPS by Configuring Valorant Game Settings

  7. Set “Detail Mode” to “Low”

4. Update Your Graphics Drivers

Users can do this by visiting the website of your GPU manufacturer and downloading the latest drivers from there. 5. Use the FPS Boosting and VPN Software

If you want to improve your FPS in Valorant further, you can use FPS boosting software. These programs are designed to optimize your PC for gaming and turn off unnecessary background programs and visual settings. Though we’re unaffiliated, two great examples are Game Booster and Razer Cortex. Some software, such as a gaming VPN, can enhance your connection to the game servers and reduce latency. 6. Overclock Your CPU and GPU to Increase Valorant FPS Number

Overclocking your CPU and GPU can lead to a boost in FPS. However, it is also important to note that overclocking can lead to hardware damage if done incorrectly. Therefore, you should only overclock your CPU and GPU if you know what you are doing.

7. Apply GPU Optimization for NVIDIA or AMD Users

If you have an NVIDIA GPU, follow these instructions to optimize it:

  1. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel.
  2. Click on “Manage 3D settings”.
  3. Click on the Program Settings tab and select Valorant from the dropdown menu.
  4. If you can’t find Valorant in the list, click “Add” and then browse the Valorant folder in your computer’s directory. The default installation path is: C:\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\ShooterGame\Content\Paks
  5. After adding Valorant to the program list, set the preferred graphics processor to “High-performance NVIDIA processor” under “Select a preferred graphics processor for this program”.

8. Set High Priority for Valorant on Windows

By setting the priority of Valorant to high, your computer will focus more resources on the game which will lead to a higher FPS rate. Here’s how you do it:

  1. Right-click the Valorant shortcut on your desktop and select Properties.
  2. In the Target field, add “high” after the final quotation mark. It should look like this: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Riot Games\VALORANT\live\VALORANT.exe” high
  3. Click Apply and then OK.
