Different from many other materials, you cannot use a crafting table to make glass. Instead, you will be using a furnace to smelt glass. Just like in real life, you have to smelt it using a furnace in order to produce glass.
Materials required to make Glass in Minecraft
- 1x Sand
- 1x Red Sand
You can use either Sand or Red sand to smelt glass. You do not need both of them.
Steps to make Glass in Minecraft
We are assuming that you have already made a furnace and knows how to use it.
- Stand in front of the furnace and right-click on it. It will open the smelting screen.
- On the bottom box, place some kind of fuel such as Charcoal, Wooden slabs, etc.
- On the top box, place sand. You will see a cooking animation.
- After the cooking is complete, you can drag and drop the glass into your inventory.
/give Command for Glass in Minecraft
You can generate glass using the /give command. You do not have to walk around collecting sand and charcoal.
