AMD Ryzen has continued to trouble Intel, and as a result, Team Blue has continually lost market share to Team Red. That trend has continued this holiday season, too. Ryzen processors from last year outsold the latest Intel processors on the market. This trend was unexpected, especially in a market where the newest Intel processors outperform their Ryzen counterparts. It can be dubbed as a prime example of consumers losing faith in Intel as a processor vendor brand.
The holiday season is generally marked by big discounts on CPU and GPU listings. However, this season is a bit different, and GPUs are being sold at almost thrice the MSRP (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price). However, CPU scalping got solved, and fortunately one can find some of the latest silicon at MSRP. Still, this does not mean the major manufacturers are running at a loss. Throughout this scalping drama, main manufacturers like AMD, Intel, and Nvidia have pulled in massive profits. Nvidia’s stock has grown by a record 138% this year.
The sales trends have been pretty uniform around the world. The fifteen best-selling processors this holiday season are listed below:

Final words
Overall, the sales numbers speak for themselves, We can see AMD taking a solid lead in almost every retail site, and Intel has almost lost the game. Their best-selling processors are either the Core i5-11400 or the older 10th generation processors. Although the latest 12th gen Alder Lake processors from Intel pack some heat, compatible motherboards cost a fortune. Also, DDR5 memory is being scalped these days. Thus, users are sticking with DDR4 builds, where AMD is the performance king.
We hope the scalping situation gets better. That will help push the latest silicon from Intel.
