Epic Games is known for giving away some of the biggest games ever made. These include Control: Ultimate Edition, Grand Theft Auto V, Just Cause 4, Watchdogs 2, and many more titles. Currently, Epic Games is hosting a sale. Several titles have been massively discounted, and the store is giving away one AAA title every week free of cost. Last week’s game was Borderlands 3. This time around, it is the entire BioShock: The Collection.
What is the BioShock: The Collection?
BioShock is a video game series set in an underground gritty dystopian world in the city of Rapture. The first game in the series was initially launched in 2007. A sequel followed up in 2010. The third entry to the series was launched in 2013 and is called BioShock: Infinite. Currently, a fourth entry to the series is reportedly in development. The Collection is a single pack of the three games released to date. It includes the remastered versions of the first two games in the series.
BioShock Remastered
BioShock Remastered was released in 2016. The remaster infused new life to the already excellent game as it added support for higher resolutions and modern hardware. The game puts you in the boots of Jack, as he crashes his airplane near Rapture, an isolated utopia turned dystopia filled with psychotic humans inflicted with mutations. The game is filled with Jack’s efforts at escaping from the city while fighting the inflicted humans.
BioShock 2 Remastered
BioShock 2 is most likely the best entry in the series. The remastered version of this game was released alongside the 2016 remaster of the original game. It took the already gritty setting and story from the 2007 game and made it a lot grittier, to say the least. The game sees players controlling a character named Subject Delta. He goes on a mass killing mission in Rapture, as he eradicates the city’s mutated, psychotic, and armed human population.
BioShock Infinite
BioShock Infinite from 2013 takes up the already gritty setting and makes it grittier. The events of this title are before those seen in the first two games. It is set in the airborne city of Columbia, a departure from Rapture. The is filled with action from the top to bottom as it features the protagonist and his hostage, Elizabeth, fighting a class war with the nativist Founders of the city.
The BioShock Collection will be available for free on the Epic Games Store until June 2. After the scheduled giveaway week expires, Epic Games has another mystery game that will come out of its vault. Provided how well this season of mystery giveaways is going, we expect another big game.
