Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 finally ended with last night’s “Collision” event. After the inter-season break, the new season launched a few hours ago. The new season is titled Vibin’ and features a much lighter mood to the season story. The new season also introduced some new gameplay mechanics like mounts, mushrooms, and Darth Vader. Fortnite is also giving a bunch of rewards to players who played Collision and the last season, including 200 V-bucks for free. Fortnite released a trailer showcasing the new map and gameplay on their official YouTube channel. This trailer is also shown the first time players load up Fortnite during Chapter 3 Season 3.
What are the Additions to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 3?
The first new addition to Fortnite is mushrooms. They were featured prominently during the Collision event. Thus, it is no surprise that they are spread across the map now. The game has also introduced a new biome to the map, Reality Falls. This new biome is a dense, magical forest. The game also allows players to plant “Reality Saplings”. After players plant them continually for a few matches, they eventually get a source of mythic loot.
With this new season, Fortnite is also presenting mounts. Players can now mount wolves and boars and ride on them. The game also allows players to shoot and throw their weapons while mounting them. This addition will add another layer of immersion and a set of advantages and disadvantages to the gameplay. Along with these two additions, the game is also adding the Darth Vader skin. However, unlocking this skin will be a bit difficult, to begin with. Upon reaching level 100, players will get the Darth Vader skin as a reward. The game teased the skin in every teaser, trailer, and Collision event.
Fortnite will also add the Indiana Jones skin later this season. Thus, Darth Vader is not the only Lucasfilm character to be introduced to the game’s strange world this season. We like the colorful and friendly vibe of this new season. Only time will tell how the narrative and the story evolve as we progress through it.
