Xbox Game Pass has been known to be one of the most value-for-money subscriptions on the gaming market today. It packs hundreds of games under a single, cheap subscription that almost anyone can afford easily without breaking the bank. The best part of the subscription service is that it keeps adding new titles continuously, and some titles are removed from the subscription to make room for the new ones. We recently saw several titles from the Yakuza series leave the service. Yakuza is big, and since various titles from that series left the subscription, we were sure something big was coming to the subscription.
IO Interactive (IOI), the Denmark-based developers of the Hitman franchise, just confirmed that the entire rebooted Hitman franchise will come to the Xbox Game Pass starting January 20th, i.e., next Thursday. This is huge as all the three titles are big AAA titles that have sold for the $60 price tag once.
IOI is also launching a game bundle by the name “The Hitman Trilogy” on 20th January. This bundle will contain Hitman 1 from 2016, Hitman 2 from 2018, and Hitman 3 from 2021. It is a collection of all the games released in the recently rebooted franchise. This package will also make it easier for players to get into the shoes of Agent 47.
This new Hitman Trilogy was also be launched on Steam, marking the launch of Hitman 3 into the platform after one long year of its release. Hitman 3 will come with full VR support, support for Intel XeSS (Xe Super Sampling), Ray Tracing, and Variable Rate Shading. The developers also announced the game will pack Steam Achievements and unlockable Trading Cards. The Hitman 3 pre-order bonus (the Trinity Pack) will also be given for free with any edition of the game for the first 30 days of its Steam release.
The pack is also coming to Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Ultimate. This will bring numerous new players into the assassin franchise and will set the path for Hitman to grow.
IOI’s collaboration with Microsoft is not unexpected at all. The Denmark-based studio is already working on an Xbox exclusive secretly with the latter, which has been codenamed Dragon. Although, these developments are purely based on rumors, and we have no concrete news yet.
We can’t wait for Hitman Trilogy’s debut on Game Pass. It is going to make the subscription even more valuable, and it seems like Microsoft is off to a great start with Game Pass in 2022.
