As an upcoming multiplayer co-op title, Warner Bros. Montreal-developed game, Gotham Knights, will fully utilize the power of current-gen hardware. A new gameplay showcase hints at the awesome visual fidelity and detailing in the character models. Alongside the recently launched gameplay footage, the Gotham Knights devs also announced details about the platforms the game will be playable on.
What are the Recent Developments Concerning Gotham Knights?
The developers recently launched a new gameplay demo of Gotham Knights, an upcoming co-op multiplayer game. The new video features Nightwing and Red Hood. It also showcases the insane cinematic quality and grittiness seen in every Batman movie and video game. Other than that, the video is based on a partial walkthrough from a portion midway through Gotham Knights’ story.
Apart from this gameplay trailer, Warner Bros. Montreal also lined out which platforms the upcoming title will be available on. The list only includes PC, the PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X|S.
Developers commented on why the game will not make it to the last-gen PS4 and the Xbox One consoles. They stated they are trying to deliver the “best possible” experience only the latest consoles and PC hardware are capable of. This hints at the fact that Gotham Knights will be particularly demanding to run. The system requirements on the PC side might be quite high too. This update does not come as a shock as recently Rocksteady announced their Suicide Squad game will come to just PC, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series X|S consoles. Both upcoming DC games will have no PS4 or Xbox One versions.
Gotham Knights will be an interesting title to look out for this year. It is set in a Gotham City, in an age when Batman has died. Court of Owls has started taking over the game’s map, and corruption and anarchy sprawl across it. As a player, you along with three other characters in a co-op action, are required to stop the crimes and restore the law. The four characters available in the game reportedly include Batgirl, Robin, Nightwing, and Red Hood.
DC is making some big moves in the gaming industry. They also have a more family-friendly Justice League game in the works.
