Last year Microsoft and Mojang Studios announced that Minecraft’s The Wild update will arrive in 2022. However, the companies did not give us a release date or window at the time of this announcement. But, it seems like the company has delivered on its promise, and Minecraft’s much-awaited big wilderness update, which has been aptly named The Wild, is scheduled to come out on June 7. This update will add a lot of new content to the game.
What are Changes Coming in the Minecraft Wilderness Update?
The upcoming wilderness update will include a couple of new biomes and mobs in the game.
New Biomes in Wild Update
The Wild update will add two new biomes to the game. These include:
- “The Deep Dark”: This biome will be an underground-themed one. The biome will be based far below the surface. According to the developers, develop need to find the base of a cave and start digging from there. The biome is also going to be overly quiet, as Mojang says. They remark it will be silent until players “set off a shrieker”. Once set off, players need to escape it within the fourth shriek. On failing this, players will have to fight this mob. The Deep Dark will also introduce some rare blocks. These include forms of the sculk block.
- “Mangrove Trees”. This biome will introduce a new wood block type to the game. It will also add the much-awaited mud block. Mud blocks can be crafted by mixing dirt and water blocks.
New Mobs in Wilderness Update
Apart from the two new biomes mentioned above, the wilderness update will also introduce three new mob kinds to the game. These new mob types are as follows:
- The Warden mob: The Warden mob can be found in the newly introduced dark biome, The Deep Dark. It is a hostile mob, and will also become the first blind mob to ever come to Minecraft.
Health Points: 84 (42x ❤️)
Attack Strength: 31 max - The Allay mob: Allay is a friendly mob that will help players to collect new items in-game.
Health Points: 20 (10x ❤️)
Attack Strength: N/A (Passive mob) - The Frog mob: The frog mob is another passive mob that will be introduced into the game. However, if it attacks magma cubes, the mob can be used to create froglight block. The company described the frog mob as three mobs in one. This is because a frog is a frogspawn at first, then it turns into a tadpole before turning into a full-fledged frog. The game is including separate mobs for each of these stages. It will also be the first mob to feature a different baby version of itself. It can be seen in the swamp and mangrove swamp biomes.
Health Points: 10 (5x ❤️)
Attack Strength: N/A (Passive mob)
Microsoft and Mojang Studios will roll the wilderness update out on June 7 on Minecraft: Bedrock Edition for Microsoft Windows, Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One X and One S, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Minecraft: Java Edition will also get the update on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS.
