Fortnite is one of the most played video games in 2021. It is a multi-billion dollar title, and new content is added not monthly or weekly, but daily. Every day at 4 P.M. PT, Fortnite players get new skins, emotes, and gear. This means completely revamped gameplay mechanics, massive events, or new quests can be added into the game any day. One of the major selling points of Fortnite is the hyperactive nature of Epic Games. This strategy has worked out successfully for the Potomac-based company to date.
The New Matrix-inspired Content
The Matrix is hands-down one of the most popular movie series out there, much like Fortnite is in the gaming genre. Thus, an epic crossover between the two is excellent. The new content is available from today, and it includes two new emotes. We will list these new content below, followed by others:
1. Neo’s Bullet Time Emote
The first of the new content includes Neo’s Bullet Time Emote. This emotes is superbly done, as we see Emote dodging several bullets in an almost-holographic skin. Fortnite has published a video on their official channel showcasing this emote. Check it out here:
2. Trinity’s Kick Emotes
The second emote shows the character Trinity air-kicking. The 3-second pause midair looks kinda dope. Like the previous one, Fortnite also has published a video on their official channel demonstrating this newly added emote. Take a look at it in action:
Other Matrix-influenced Additions
Apart from the two new emotes, Fortnite has some more The Matrix content that players can use in-game right now. These include the Ones and Zeroes Wrap. This wrap can replicate the classic green 0s and 1s binary code on any weapon, pickaxe, or collectible. This, paired with more items from the Matrix collection, can be used to create the ultimate Matrix-inspired character in the game. It is also worth noting this wrap is available with the Follow the White Rabbit set.
More The Matrix content includes the Sentinel Glider. This glider was made available as part of the Fortnite Winterfest 2021 collection. This year’s Winterfest is bringing 14 free items. These include loading screens, pickaxes, skins, and gliders, amongst others.
However, the lack of any The Matrix-inspired skins keeps the collection incomplete to an extent. Thankfully, we imagine they will arrive sooner or later. If Fortnite adds Neo and Trinity to the game at any point, it will be superstar Keanu Reeves’ second appearance in the game. The first appearance of this acclaimed actor was in the form of John Wick.
There have been quite a few rumors surrounding the addition of tornadoes to Fortnite. Players can fly around the map, much like what UFOs did in Chapter 2 Season 7. If this comes true, it almost seems like players will be able to fly around like Neo, even if Epic Games does not add him.
Although Fortnite is known for its epic crossovers, this The Matrix crossover stems from the anticipation of the upcoming sequel, The Matrix Resurrections, scheduled to release tomorrow (22 December 2021).
Fortnite is a free-to-play title and is now available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Android, iOS, macOS, and Microsoft Windows.
