Warzone 2 has been in the talks for quite some time. While the current state of Warzone may look promising, the studio is undergoing a complete change, both in terms of ownership and working model. Also, the criticism the battle royale received over the last year should be enough to force Activision to come up with a revamped version of the formula that works. The studios have not confirmed any of these leaks yet, and it does not seem they will anytime soon.
Modern Warfare II is supposed to launch this fall, and Warzone 2 should follow suit within a quarter as we have seen with the release windows with the past couple of games. Reputed industry leaker Tom Henderson has confirmed a number of these developments, and we believe in their legitimacy at this time. Several exciting changes are coming to the upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and we’ve heard of several.
Unlockable Loadouts
One of the major problems with Warzone is how easy it is to access loadouts. Players spawn with theirs, and this makes the game very simple. Although loadouts are here to say in the upcoming Warzone game, the way they work will change. According to recent leaks, players will have to loot to a certain level after landing with just a revolver/pistol. They can then raid certain Strongholds in the game to unlock their loadouts. Leaks suggest these Strongholds will be guarded by AI, a system we have seen in battle royale titles like Fortnite.
Stronghold fights will mostly take place during the early phase of the game, right after the landing phase. After players have claimed their loadouts, they will progress towards the mid and late phases of a match. If Strongholds make their way to the actual launch, they will add a lot of variety to the Warzone experience.
Pro Perks
Pro Perks are no strangers to the Call of Duty series. However, rumors suggest they might make a comeback in the upcoming Warzone 2. Pro Perks are improved versions of the existing ones. They will be introduced as loot and can be picked up from Strongholds. Alongside Pro Perks, gamers can also loot kill streaks and other gear from Strongholds.
Reworked Inventory
Recently, leaks surfaced suggesting that Warzone might introduce bags with varying levels of rarity in the upcoming title. Rarer bags will have more inventory slots in them, thereby allowing players to loot more weapons and gear. This is similar to the system seen in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and will make the gameplay challenging and exciting in a lot of ways.
While Activision still has to confirm any bits of information we mentioned, a reworked Warzone game is happening. These leaks might be sheer ideas that fans want to see in the game, but provided some reputed leakers are confirming them, speculation keeps increasing. We will see more reveals, speculations, and news months escalate toward the game’s launch.
