Ubisoft’s all-new entry into the long-running Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six series is Extraction, a sci-fi shooter which involves operators fighting an unknown alien form. The game is the 22nd release in the long-running Rainbow Six series and a Ubisoft Original. However, this release is a bit different from previous launches in the series, as Ubisoft has partnered with Microsoft to bring the game to the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass subscriptions on day one. Much unlike the last release in the series, Rainbow Six Siege, Extraction is not a competitive entry, and it is a multiplayer co-operative title with objective-focused gameplay.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction: Overview
Rainbow Six Extraction is a cooperative spin-off and the latest entry into the long-running series from Ubisoft. Like other games in the series, it is a tactical shooter. Events in the game are a continuation of Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Chimera and the limited-time Outbreak event. These events sparked the development of this game, and it was initially named Rainbow Six Quarantine. However, with time, the game was renamed Rainbow Six Extraction.
The game is set in four key areas in the USA where “Parasite” activity is at its height, named as hotspots. These areas include New York City, San Francisco, Alaska, and New Mexico. Players play as REACT operatives, and three operatives are deployed on a map at a time and tasked with three objectives in three regions. Once they complete the first objective, they can move to the second region through special containers called Airlockers.
All the objectives have a time limit, and if players fail to complete the given objective within the given time, they will end up MIA (Missing in Action). The respective operator is unavailable to use in further missions until they are rescued by the player in a mission.
Rainbow Six Extraction Release Times
Rainbow Six Siege will follow a three-phase rollout procedure. Each phase sprawls multiple continents and time zones at the same time, and they have already begun. The game will launch around midnight in the various stores and platforms, although timings will be different for each of them.
