The internet has gotten used to new Silent Hill game rumors for as long as a decade. News about a sequel to the original Silent Hill game surface now and then, but most of the time they reside as no one can prove its legitimacy. Fans have been waiting for a sequel to this amazing horror game for over 15 years at this point. But, since the rift between Kojima and Konami, the dreams about a new Silent Hill title seemed like pure imagination.
Kojima Productions is not interested in the IP (Intellectual Property) as it does not have the rights, and Konami has been excessively quiet about a sequel to the first game. But, recent leaks speak otherwise. A showcase of four images was leaked on the internet by a reputable industry insider. These screenshots included a letter written completely in Japanese and two-year-old screenshots of the levels in the game. Although Konami did not go out and confirm the existence of a new Silent Hill game, they did, however, immediately copyright strike these leaked images. This inadvertently proves the existence of a Silent Hill sequel.
The news of the Silent Hill leak has been shared by multiple users. The tweet embedded below is one such, albeit in a different language.
The leaked images also suggest that the upcoming Silent Hill game will have a female protagonist. The images which have surfaced are from 2020, and some analysts have calculated that the game is in the works from the same year. Konami has not confirmed any information on this game to date, so the industry is not sure about this assumption.
The fourth image also has a letter written completely in Japanese. This might hint at the leak from 2019 which suggested that the upcoming Silent Hill game will take immersion to a whole different level by sending text messages to the players. The Medium developer Bloober Team is developing this upcoming game. From what they delivered with The Medium, hopes are high for this upcoming sequel too.
