V Rising, the newly released survival and vampire PC game, has been viral for the last week as it entered Early Access. The game is gathering huge viewership on streaming platforms like Twitch and YouTube. The developers, Stunlock Studios, did not expect such a massive response from the fans of vampire-based games worldwide. The large player count also means that the game now has a huge community, constantly asking for fan-favorite features to be added to the game. Luckily, Stunlock is actively working on delivering them.
Recently, we reported that V Rising will be getting an offline mode. Since the game is in Early Access, it leaks a lot of important features that make up a complete game. Offline mode / LAN play is one. Thus, developers were working on implementing the feature to the PC version of the game. They promised to roll out the offline mode update within a couple of days. We’re happy to reveal, that with the recent hotfix, the feature is fully available within the game.
The hotfix version 0.5.41448 seems to have added this feature to the game. It was rolled out earlier today. But, the offline mode has a catch. To play V Rising offline, you need to go online, and then select the “Go Offline” feature from within Steam settings. This, however, is Steam’s requirement as it requires an anti-piracy check before allowing players to get into any game.
The offline mode is not necessary for a chunk of gamers who have an always-on internet connection. Also, console gamers have no use for it. Only PC gamers who prefer offline mode over the always-online gameplay will have any use for it. Thus, the fact that Stunlock Games added a feature that was only requested by a fraction of its fan base is indicative of their dedication to the game and its community. Along with this hotfix, V Rising now uses Steam Cloud to save the game’s server history.
On top of the introduction of an offline mode to the game, the recent hotfix fixed added several bug fixes to the game. These include the fix to the issue in which servants could be sent on multiple hunts by placing multiple thrones in the game. Also, if many players started dismantling floors simultaneously, the floor would disconnect. This issue also has been solved. V Rising is supposed to leave the Early Access mode within 2023. Considering the current pace with which Stunlock is rolling out updates for the game, this release window seems achievable.
