Let’s face it, most of us won’t reach celebrity status, and open-world games give us the freedom to live out our fantasies. With that said, those who want to feel like a VIP (Very Important Person), should pick up Grand Theft Auto V/Online. You can become a VIP in-game by starting an organization, hiring bodyguards, and executing tasks together or against each other. The game also comes with difficulties of being in charge, such as the betrayal of those working for you. Sound captivating? Let’s demonstrate how to register as a VIP in GTA 5.
1. Register as a VIP in GTA 5
The steps are identical to those in step 1 of registering a CEO in GTA 5, except that in substep 3, you should select Register as VIP. The main difference between a CEO and a VIP is that the former must have an office. Although becoming a VIP is free, you need to have a minimum of $50k in the bank to initiate the process.
2. Name your organization
Name the organization you’ll be a VIP inside of. Afterward, a notification stating, You’re now the VIP of [Organization Name], will appear on-screen.
3. Start working after you register as a VIP in GTA 5
Open the Interaction Menu again, and you’ll notice “SecuroServ” changed into “SecuroServ VIP”. Now that you’ve registered as VIP in GTA 5, you have the following options:
1. Hire Associates
You can hire up to 3 bodyguards/associates to accompany you. Bodyguards and associates gain RP when near you, and bonus RP when driving you. When killed, you’ll spawn near your associates. Your bodyguards lose 5% of their RP gain every time you die, up to a 50% limit, giving them an incentive to protect you.
2. Management
Change the name of the Organization (costs $50k), enable/disable Friendly Fire, enable/disable Formation Flying Assist, Styles (enforce clothing rules), and see a list of associates.
3. VIP Work
Finish a variety of tasks in the Freemode world with your bodyguards and associates and gain cash and RP as prizes. Profits are split between all members of your organization. Some of them do not require other members in the organization to start, although their presence makes things easier. Others require at least one associate or bodyguard present, while a few VIP jobs require a player outside of your Organization to start.
4. VIP Challenges
Compete with your associates or bodyguards to gain RP and cash as a reward. Prizes are not shared, so competition and personal gain is the only goal.
5. VIP Abilities
As a VIP, you can do the following things for people under you:
- Drop Bullshark Testosterone. They gain enhanced strength and higher reflexes for 60 seconds.
- Drop Ammo. Drop ammunition crate for yourself and others.
- Spectate Bodyguards. Self-explained.
- Drop Armor. Spawn super heavy armor for yourself and associates.
- Ghost Organization. Hides yourself, your associates, and the VIP jobs from the map for 3 minutes.
- Bribe Authorities. Removes Wanted Level and provides immunity from Wanted Level for the next 2 minutes.
- Order Organization Vehicles. Spawn a range of free and paid vehicles, all of which are in matte-black color, and usually armor-plated.
Pay attention to this after you register as a VIP in GTA 5
Here are 4 things to keep in mind as GTA 5 VIP:
1. Limited status
Your VIP status only lasts for 4 hours of Freemode playtime. Doing a VIP job or Challenge does not decrease it. There’s a 12-hour cool down before you can register as VIP again.
2. Limited VIP number
There can only be 6 VIPs at the same time. You can join a session as the 7th but must terminate it until someone’s status expires or he/she leaves.
3. Letting people go
You can fire a bodyguard or associate. If you select the Dismiss option in SecuroServ > Management, he’ll leave without consequences. However, if the player is trolling or malicious, you can select the Terminate option. This gives 5 minutes to associates/bodyguards in your organization to kill him.
4. Organization name
Because it isn’t unique, you can’t join a session with bodyguards, associates, or VIPs in another organization with an identical name.
