DOOM Eternal brings back memories from the 1990s. This entry in the age-old series makes use of all modern hardware out there while still feeling like the original titles from two decades ago. It is a graphical marvel, but Bethesda has optimized the title very well to give a 60 FPS experience on some entry-level hardware too. DOOM isn’t designed to be played in 30 FPS. It is a fast-paced action first-person shooter game, and you make out the most of it only if the game is running at 60 FPS or higher. Thus, we won’t include DOOM Eternal system requirements for 30 FPS experiences. Rather, we will emphasize systems that can run the game at 120 FPS or higher.
DOOM Eternal Minimum System Requirements
1080p / 60 FPS / Low Quality Settings
The official minimum requirements listed on Bethesda’s site are a bit confusing. The minimum CPU listed states Core i5 @3.3GHz or better, or AMD Ryzen 3 @ 3.1 GHz or better. There have been several processors released with clock speeds equal to or faster than the listed. However, we guess Bethesda refers to the slightly older quad-core i5 and the fairly recent quad-core Ryzen 3 processors.
A large number of graphics cards are listed alongside the processors. The graphics cards vary largely in terms of their performance, with the GTX 1050 Ti and the R9 280 being way weaker than the GTX 1060 3 GB and the RX 470.

The texture quality should be set to Medium on the GTX 970 to get 60 FPS consistently. The shabby 4 GB VRAM on the GTX 970 isn’t enough to keep the large textures loaded at the High settings, and it results in frequent stutters and frame drops.
