Far Cry 5 is undoubtedly one of the best installments in the long-running series. The game features one of the most serious and mysterious antagonists in the franchise, and the game was praised for its story. Far Cry 5 was a strong comeback for the series following the failure of Far Cry Primal (2017). Everything from the scenic setting of Hope County to the improved gameplay mechanics puts it among the best games Ubisoft has ever made. Far Cry 5 was well optimized so the system requirements won’t be a menace to some low-end hardware.
Ubisoft requires you to have at least an Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.1 GHz or an AMD FX 6300 @ 3.5 GHz coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 or an AMD Radeon R9 270 to play the game at 720p 30fps using the lowest settings. These specifications are acceptable as the game looks pretty impressive, and this hardware is almost over seven years old.
To play the game at the highest settings at 1080p, you need at least an Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.5 GHz or an AMD FX-8350 @ 4.0 GHz NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or an AMD Radeon R9 290X. Considering how good the game looks, these requirements are completely adequate. Although these pieces of hardware are very capable even to date, they are quite old. Ubisoft did optimize the game very well since it runs decently on some entry-level hardware too.
Far Cry 5 does not come with support for upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR. Thus, gamers with less capable GPUs cannot enjoy higher frame rates or resolutions, even if they want to.

Additional Notes
Despite the fact some hardware may be capable enough of running the game, it won’t start. That’s because Ubisoft doesn’t officially support it for Far Cry 5. More specifically, hardware oftentimes runs out of support from its original manufacturers, which is a hassle for the game developer. Additionally, it prevents the creation of Game Ready Drivers for that hardware that ensures smooth gameplay.
Below is a list of hardware that is supported by Ubisoft for Far Cry 5. If a certain series is not listed, or if any particular hardware is below the minimum listed hardware on this series, it suggests that that specific component cannot be used to play Far Cry 5.
