Far Cry New Dawn is a sequel to 2018’s Far Cry V. The game has a post-apocalyptic setting and takes up life in Hope County after the nuke that we saw at the end of Far Cry V. The title is filled with lush vegetation, boasts the pink color nearly everywhere, and was praised for its gameplay mechanics and a wonderful story. Although Far Cry New Dawn is extremely visually impressive, the system requirements are surprisingly low. This is thanks to the efforts the game developer made on optimization. Consequently, as mentioned, the performance on some entry-level hardware is awesome.
Ubisoft requires you to have at least an Intel® Core™️ i5 2400 @3.10 – 3.40 GHz or an AMD® FX™️ 6350 @3.90 – 4.20 GHz coupled with an NVIDIA® GeForce™️ GTX 670 (2 GB) or AMD® Radeon™️ R9 270X (2 GB) to get the game up and running at 1080p 30fps using the lowest settings. These requirements are satisfactory provided some of this hardware is over seven years old.
To play the game at 1080p 60fps using the highest possible settings, Ubisoft requires you to have an Intel Core i7-4790 @ 3.6 GHz or AMD Ryzen 5 1600 @ 3.2 GHz coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4 GB) or AMD Radeon R9 290X (4 GB). These requirements are completely acceptable provided how good the game looks.
However, Far Cry New Dawn does not support any upscaling technologies like Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR. These will not let players with lower-end GPUs boost their frame rates or resolutions.
