Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the best PlayStation 4 exclusives. Released in 2017, it received critical acclaim for its innovative robot combat, strong narration, and awesome storyline. The game was one of Sony’s biggest gambles, and Guerrilla Games did not disappoint PlayStation fans and owners. In August 2020, the game made it to PC. With unlocked frame rates and support for ultrawide and multi-monitor setups, Horizon Zero Dawn plays like a separate title. There were a few bugs and glitches here and there at launch. However, Guerrilla Games addressed them with a future update. But considering that the game was originally released in 2017, the system requirements of Horizon Zero Dawn are a bit on the higher end. Guerrilla Games requires you to have at least an Intel Core i5-2500K @3.3GHz or an AMD FX 6300 @3.5GHz paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 (3 GB) or an AMD Radeon R9 290 (4GB). Although these requirements may be acceptable for an AAA title released in 2020, they are too steep for a port of a 2017 game.
To play the game at the highest visual fidelity possible, you need at least an Intel Core i7-4770K @3.5GHz or Ryzen 5 1500X @3.5GHz coupled with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB) or AMD Radeon RX 580 (8GB). Although those requirements are adequate for a new release, considering they are over five years old now, they are a bit on a higher-end for a 2017 title.
