Marvel’s Avengers was a disappointment for veteran Avengers fans. The game was a digital recreation of scenes we already saw in the movies. Square Enix did nothing in the innovation part of the game’s development, and this resulted in mass criticism. However, the game is just fine for those that aren’t a big fan of the Marvel movies. Although the characters didn’t look like the original movie cast for copyright reasons, the game is jam-packed to last you a weekend. We didn’t say whether it’ll be enjoyable; wait until you learn the system requirements for Marvel’s Avengers.
The game was an unoptimized mess when it came out in September 2020. The open beta took away all hype for it, with gamers asking for pre-order cancellations and refunds upon release. However, Square Enix improved the game post-release, and it’s somewhat enjoyable today. You need at least a Core™ i3-4160 or an AMD© FX™ 6300 coupled with a paltry GTX 950 or Radeon™ R9 270 to play at 1080p 30fps with the lowest settings. The GTX 950 is almost 50% slower than the most popular video card according to Steam Hardware Survey, the GTX 1060.
With that said, the game still struggles on some entry-level hardware, especially in GPUs that pack 4GB VRAM of the older GDDR5 memory standard. The game isn’t optimized well even after the post-release patches, and it needs more work.

Marvel’s Avengers recently introduced support for both NVIDIA DLSS and AMD FSR. This makes it one of the first games with support for both of the upscaling technologies. They make the game run smoother, especially on some lower-end graphics cards. It will also let you play at higher resolutions, provided the difference in visual fidelity is almost negligible nowadays.
Marvel’s Avengers is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows, and Google Stadia.
