PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds took the world by storm when it launched in 2017. The game saved a dying battle royale genre and sold over 70 million copies as of July 2020. However, things are not going very well for PUBG corporation. This game peaked at 3.3 million concurrent players between 2017 and 2018. However, these days, it barely gets 300,000 peak players in 24 hours. Although the game is declining, a plethora of new content is added for players to enjoy every day, making PUBG a must-try title. It can still give players tasty chicken dinners, and you’ll see why if you meet the system requirements for PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
Right off the bat, the specifications are a bit confusing. PUBG Corporation lists an Intel Core i5-4430 or an AMD FX-6300 coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB or an AMD Radeon R7 370 2GB and 8 GB RAM as the bare minimum. However, the GTX 960 is far more capable than an R7 370, and the former can easily play PUBG at 1080p at 40+ fps even while using the High settings. PUBG did not mention resolutions or graphics settings in the list. They mentioned these are minimum specifications to play PUBG and might not provide a smooth experience.
PUBG recommends Intel Core i5-6600K or an AMD Ryzen 5 1600 coupled with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB or an AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB to play the game at 144+ fps in most situations. However, the GTX 1060 3 GB hovers around the 70 fps mark and drops to the upper 50s in intense scenarios.
Overall, the listed system requirements seem off the mark. We will list the official system requirements first. We will not list 30 fps systems for higher resolutions like 1440p and 2160p, since PUBG is a game meant to be played at over 60 fps.
